Sound Design, Composition - Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary Dance

A distortion and adaptation of Bach's Mass in B Minor, BWV 232: Agnus Dei (Alto) for contemporary dance, performed at Sadler's Wells in London.

This destruction and reconstruction of Bach's Mass in B Minor drew on my background as a classically trained musician, and focussed on sonically translating the ideas and themes introduced through movement by the choreographer and performers.

Using distortion algorithms created by myself, and interpolated field recordings of breath and waves I aimed to create an otherworldly atmosphere, enhancing the almost terrifying edge of religious classical music.

WAIT WITHOUT was performed over a series of evenings along with other selected pieces from the Rambert School of Ballet & Contemporary dance at Sadler's Well's Theatre in London.
