Live Storytelling & Sound Design ー Ishinoko Festival 2024 (30 mins)

A live storytelling performance of traditional British folk tales, told in Japanese with dynamic and responsive sound design and compositions at Ishinoko Festival 2024.

Long ago, in the day of King Arthur, a great storytelling competition was held. All present must have a story of one kind or another to tell, but when one man is called on with none to tell he is sent out to find his own.

This live storytelling performance wove together four traditional British folk tales for a Japanese audience during Ishinoko Festival 2026. An array of dynamic soundscapes, field recordings and original compositions were used to conjure a fantastical atmosphere, responding to my live oration.

Pulling this off in Japanese was a real challenge!
